“Critics from the black Lagoon” is a non-sponsored, non-profit film review blog.

It is run by movie scientist Dan and film enthusiast Larry, based in Finland and Germany. (Despite our nicknames we can assure you, that this blog passes the Bechdel Test).

This project was inspired by private movie analyses and heated discussions that inspired us to share them with the world. The reviews are written in our free time and are a side project (for now). Even though we aspire to keep up a consistent posting schedule and - at least partially - do have academic knowledge on films, the reviews are written with humor and a pinch of sarcasm. They’re meant to be lighthearted and for entertainment purposes only.

The movies featured will cover a variety of different genres, though the thematic priority is queer cinema.
